How Rogers roaming works in Europe (in plain terms)
Rogers sells international roaming as a daily add-on: on any day you use data, texts or calls abroad, you are billed for that day at the rate tied to your plan. Some Rogers plans include roaming allowances; others charge per day. The daily amount, the included data and the countries covered are not the same for every customer, so we will not quote a number here.
Do this before you fly: open the MyRogers app, find your plan's international roaming section and read the current European rate, the daily data allowance and what happens after that allowance is used. If your plan already bundles Europe, roaming may genuinely be the easiest choice — one less thing to install.

Rogers wins when your plan already includes Europe, when you need to receive Canadian calls and SMS on your number all day, or when you will be abroad for just one or two days. How to avoid accidental Rogers roaming charges
The classic surprise happens when the phone lands, grabs a European network on the Rogers line and triggers a daily charge before you even leave the airport. Prevent it:
- Install the VoaSim eSIM at home, before you fly, and leave that line switched off until you land.
- On the plane or right after landing, open Settings and turn Data roaming OFF on your Rogers line.
- Set the VoaSim eSIM as your mobile data line, and keep the Rogers line for calls and SMS only if you want them.
- Turn off automatic Wi-Fi Assist / adaptive connectivity so the phone does not silently switch back.
- Check iMessage, FaceTime and app auto-updates — set them to Wi-Fi only.

Install, activate and what happens if it fails

Compatibility is broad: iPhone XR or newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 or newer, Google Pixel 3 or newer, and most phones released from 2020 on. Dial *#06# — if an EID appears, your phone supports eSIM. Carrier-locked handsets must be unlocked first. VoaSim does not sell physical SIM cards.
