How to select the network manually abroad

Direct answerWhen the eSIM won’t register on its own, force it: iPhone under Settings → Cellular → (eSIM line) → Network Selection → turn off "Automatic" and pick a local carrier; Android in the eSIM line’s options → Network operators / Choose network → turn off automatic and select from the list. If one carrier fails, try another — not every network accepts every eSIM.

3 tips from people who do this every day

  1. The search takes 1-3 minutes — that’s normal, wait for the full list
  2. If the first carrier says "unable to connect", try the others one by one
  3. Worked? You can stay on manual until the end of the trip in that country; when changing countries, switch back to "Automatic"

No carrier accepts?

Check that the eSIM line is on and data roaming enabled. If every network keeps refusing, it may be a plan not activated or a destination outside coverage — send a screenshot to the tool and the AI checks it.
