eSIM connects, but the internet is slow?

Direct answerSlow internet with the eSIM connected is usually: 1) the phone stuck on a congested local network or on 3G — switch carriers via manual network selection; 2) restricted data mode (data saver/low power mode); 3) on some providers’ "unlimited" plans, fair-use speed throttling.

1. Switch local networks

Turn off automatic selection and try another carrier from the list — the difference can be a congested 3G vs. a free 5G. Path: see how to select the network manually.

2. Turn off the savers that choke data

3. Check the network type

If the icon shows 3G/E, force LTE/5G in the line’s options (Voice & Data → 5G/LTE). In some destinations 5G isn’t available for roaming — LTE is the expected behavior.

4. Plan with "fair use"?

Some other companies’ unlimited plans throttle speed after a daily volume. If the slowness started suddenly at the same time of day, that may be it — check your plan’s policy. (VoaSim plans have no speed throttling.)

Frequently asked questions

Speedtest looks fine but apps hang. Why?
Usually DNS or the app riding the Wi-Fi route. Turn Wi-Fi fully off and try again.
The slowness happens only at night. Is it the eSIM?
It’s probably local network congestion at peak hours — switching carriers via manual selection usually fixes it.
