eSIM stopped working mid-trip?

1. Get the network back

Airplane mode 10 seconds → off
Restart the phone
Manual selection: try ANOTHER local carrier (the one you were on may have dropped)

2. Changed country?

Single-country plans stop at the border. Regional plans (e.g. Europe) keep working — but sometimes need manual network selection in the new country.

3. Plan expired or used up?

Check validity and balance in the provider’s app or dashboard. Day-based plans count from the first connection; GB-based plans can run out before the trip ends.

4. Did roaming get turned off?

System updates or an accidental tap can switch off the line’s roaming. Check again: iPhone, Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola.

⚠️ Never delete the eSIM from your phone. With most providers the QR code installs only once: deleting the line can mean losing the plan. Removing the eSIM is a last resort, and only with guidance from the support team of whoever sold it to you.

How do I know if my plan expired?

In the provider’s app or site (Airalo/Holafly/Nomad have apps; VoaSim confirms it by e-mail at hola@voasim.com). If it expired, you’ll need a new plan — the old QR doesn’t "top up".
