Hotspot not working with the eSIM?

Direct answerIf the hotspot won’t start or connects "no internet", check: 1) does the eSIM’s internet work on the phone itself?; 2) is the Personal Hotspot enabled on the right line?; 3) some eSIM plans block or limit tethering — check the provider’s policy. On iPhone, Personal Hotspot disappears when the carrier doesn’t configure the "Hotspot" APN.

1. Basics: does the internet work on the phone?

No internet on the phone means nothing to share. Fix that first with eSIM installed but no internet.

2. Turn on the hotspot on the right line

iPhone: Settings → Personal Hotspot → Allow Others to Join. If the option doesn’t even appear, it’s an APN limitation of the plan
Android: Settings → Connections/Network → Hotspot & tethering → turn on

3. Connects but "no internet" on the laptop?

Forget the network on the laptop and reconnect
Toggle the hotspot off and on
On iPhone, enable "Maximize Compatibility"

4. Does the plan allow hotspot?

Most travel eSIMs allow sharing within personal use (VoaSim’s do). Some other companies’ unlimited plans block or cap it — check your plan’s terms.
