Carrier roaming checklist

Did you buy the package before traveling? Most packages don’t activate by themselves: you buy them via the app or your carrier’s service number
Data roaming TURNED ON for your regular line (the opposite of what’s recommended with a travel eSIM)
Airplane mode 10 seconds → off. Still nothing? Restart
Manual network selection: pick a partner carrier of the package (your carrier lists which ones)

The real risk: per-MB charges

If the package isn’t active and you browse with roaming on, many carriers bill a per-MB rate that can hit hundreds of dollars in a single day. If you’re not sure the package is active, turn off roaming on that line until you confirm it with your carrier.
