eSIM not connecting on your Xiaomi / POCO / Redmi?

1. Roaming set to "Always" (the Xiaomi trap)

Xiaomi / POCO / Redmi: Settings → SIM cards & mobile networks → Data roaming → under International roaming pick "Always"
If it stays on "Except international roaming" (the factory default), the eSIM installs but never gets online.

2. eSIM as the data line

SIM cards & mobile networks → under Mobile data, pick the eSIM line. Check that the line is turned on.

3. Force the network

Airplane mode 10 seconds → off

Still at home? "No service" is normal

Most travel eSIMs only connect in the destination country. At home it shows "no service" and that is not a defect. Installing it doesn't use up the plan: the days usually start counting when you connect at the destination with roaming turned on.

⚠️ Never delete the eSIM from your phone. With most providers the QR code installs only once: deleting the line can mean losing the plan. Removing the eSIM is a last resort, and only with guidance from the support team of whoever sold it to you.
