If your company pays for your connectivity abroad, you need a document, not a screenshot. Travel eSIMs are digital products, so the paperwork works a little differently from a phone bill: there is no monthly statement, just one charge for one package.

This guide explains what VoaSim sends you, when it arrives, what it shows, and how to file it in an expense report without back-and-forth with finance.

What VoaSim sends you after payment

Two emails matter after checkout. The first carries your eSIM QR code and the install instructions for iPhone and Android. The second is the invoice for the purchase, sent to the email address you typed at checkout. Both land within minutes.

The invoice reflects a single charge in US dollars, processed by Stripe. There are no hidden fees, no local-currency billing and no cash option. If your bank converts the amount to your home currency, that conversion appears on your card statement, not on the VoaSim invoice.

Because a travel eSIM is a prepaid package, the document is a one-time receipt for the plan you chose, not a recurring bill. Nothing renews on its own. When the days run out, the line simply stops and you buy again if you want to. You can check the exact amount before you pay in the price simulator.

The amount your invoice will show

VoaSim uses one price per duration, identical for every destination, so you always know what finance will see. Today's prices already include the 15% promo:

PlanPricePer day
5 daysUSD 18.90USD 3.78
7 daysUSD 23.90USD 3.41
10 daysUSD 30.90USD 3.09
15 daysUSD 42.90USD 2.86
30 daysUSD 61.90USD 2.06
60 daysUSD 106.90USD 1.78

Trips of 1 to 4 days are billed as the 5-day package. A second eSIM in the same order gets 10% extra off, and that discount appears on the same invoice, which is handy when you buy for a colleague travelling with you. The maximum is 90 days per eSIM.

Filing it in an expense report

Most expense tools want four things: vendor, date, amount and currency. The VoaSim invoice email has all four, so the simplest route is to forward the email to your expense inbox or save it as PDF and attach it.

One tip that saves arguments: note the trip dates and the destination next to the receipt. An eSIM bought on the 2nd for a trip starting on the 10th can look odd to an approver who does not know how travel eSIMs work.

Lost the invoice? Here is the order to check

Do these in sequence before assuming something went wrong:

  1. Search your inbox for "VoaSim" instead of scrolling. The email arrives minutes after payment.
  2. Check spam and promotions tabs. Automated receipts often land there on the first purchase.
  3. Confirm the address you typed at checkout. A typo sends both the invoice and the QR code to nowhere.
  4. Check your card statement to confirm the charge went through in USD via Stripe.
  5. Write to hola@voasim.com or use the on-site chat. Human support can resend the invoice and the QR code to the correct address.

If the problem is not the paperwork but the connection — eSIM installed, no signal — use the free eSIM Rescue tool, which diagnoses an eSIM of any brand. And if the eSIM will not connect and support cannot fix it, you get a 100% refund.

Business travel: what to buy and what to expect

For work trips the plan matters as much as the receipt. VoaSim's eSIM is truly unlimited data: no cap, no throttling, no hidden fair-use clause. That removes the mid-trip top-up, which also means one line in your expense report instead of three.

Coverage runs to 170 destinations on 4G and, where the local network has it, 5G. The Europe plan covers 50 countries with a single eSIM, including Switzerland, the UK, Turkey, Norway and Iceland — useful when one trip crosses four borders but you only want one invoice.

Two limits to plan around. It is a data-only product: no phone number and no traditional voice calls, though WhatsApp, app calls and maps work fine over data. And there is no coverage in the island Caribbean right now (Puerto Rico does work, on US networks). On cruises, it connects on land at ports, not at sea. Hotspot depends on the plan — ask support before relying on it.

How other eSIM brands and carriers handle receipts

Be fair about the alternatives, because the right pick depends on your finance team.

App-based eSIM brands like Airalo, Nomad, Saily, Ubigi, Holafly and others usually keep receipts inside the app account, sold by GB or by day. If your company accepts an in-app PDF, that is fine; check each brand's terms for caps, validity and tethering on its official site or app.

Carrier roaming (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, EE, Vodafone, Three, Telstra, Rogers, Google Fi and similar) puts the charge on your regular phone bill. That is convenient if your employer already reimburses the whole bill — and awkward if they only reimburse the travel portion, since you have to isolate the roaming lines yourself. Rates change by country and plan, so check the current rate in your carrier app. See our roaming overview.

A local physical SIM often gives only a till receipt, may require passport registration, and takes your home number out of the phone.

FAQ

Does VoaSim send an invoice automatically?
Yes. The invoice goes to the email address you entered at checkout, within minutes of payment, alongside the QR code email. You do not have to request it. If it does not show up, check spam first, then contact hola@voasim.com or the on-site chat for a resend.
In which currency is the eSIM invoice issued?
In US dollars. Payment is taken by international credit or debit card through Stripe, with no hidden fees and no local-currency billing. If your bank converts the amount, that conversion appears on your card statement, not on the VoaSim invoice itself.
Can I get the invoice in my company's name?
The invoice is generated from the details you provide at checkout. If your expense policy needs specific billing information, contact support at hola@voasim.com or use the on-site chat before or right after buying, and a human will help sort the document out.
Is the eSIM a subscription that bills me every month?
No. Each VoaSim eSIM is a one-time prepaid package: 5, 7, 10, 15, 30 or 60 days, from USD 18.90 to USD 106.90. Nothing renews automatically. When the days end, the line stops and you decide whether to buy another plan.
The invoice date is before my trip. Is that a problem?
It is normal and expected. You should install the eSIM at home before you fly, so the purchase date is usually earlier than the travel date. The plan's days only start counting at the eSIM's first connection to a network at your destination.
Do I get one invoice if I buy two eSIMs?
Yes. Two eSIMs in the same order appear on a single invoice, and the second one gets 10% extra off. That is the tidiest option when you and a colleague travel together and only one of you files the expense report.
What if the eSIM never connects — do I still owe the money?
No. If the eSIM will not connect and support cannot fix the issue, you get a 100% refund. Before that, run the free eSIM Rescue tool at voasim.com/sos, which diagnoses connection problems on an eSIM of any brand, in a few guided steps.
