Is my phone eSIM compatible? Check in 1 minute
Two conditions: the model must have eSIM and be unlocked from the carrier. Here is the 1-minute check, and the list by brand.
The universal test (more reliable than any list)
- iPhone: Settings → General → About. If the "eSIM" section appears, it is compatible. Shortcut: in Settings → Cellular, is there "Add eSIM"?
- Android: Settings → Connections/Network → SIM manager. If it offers "Add eSIM" or "Download SIM", it is compatible. Shortcut: dial *#06# — if an EID appears, the device has eSIM.
List by brand (models with eSIM)
| Brand | From |
| iPhone | XR / XS (2018) onward — every model since |
| Samsung | Galaxy S20, Note 20, Z Flip/Fold onward; A series only selected recent models (A54/A55 depending on country) |
| Google Pixel | Pixel 3 onward |
| Motorola | Razr (2019+), Edge 30/40/50, G84 and several recent G/E models depending on market |
| Xiaomi | Xiaomi 12T/13/14 onward and some Redmi Note 13+ depending on version |
| Honor / Huawei | Selected models (P40, Magic 4+); verify with *#06# |
⚠️ Important: the same model can ship with or without eSIM depending on the country of sale (common with Xiaomi and Samsung A). The EID test rules.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know for sure my phone has eSIM?
Dial *#06#: if an EID code appears, it has eSIM. It is the most reliable test because the same model varies by country of sale.
Does any iPhone have eSIM?
From the XR/XS (2018) onward, yes. The historical exception is mainland-China iPhones, which in several models ship without eSIM.
What if my phone has no eSIM?
Your options are a local physical SIM at the destination or a pocket Wi-Fi. Or use the eSIM on your travel partner's phone and share via hotspot.
