eSIM stuck on "Activating...": the fix
First, breathe: if you are still in your home country, "Activating..." can be normal — many travel eSIMs only finish activating when they see the destination network. Here is how to tell normal from stuck.
Normal or stuck?
| Situation | Verdict |
| Installed at home, haven't traveled yet | Normal. Many profiles stay "activating" until they connect to the destination network. Don't touch anything. |
| You've been at the destination for 15+ minutes | Stuck: apply the steps below. |
| Installation was cut off mid-QR | Possibly corrupt profile: contact support before deleting. |
The 5 steps to unstick it (at the destination)
- Data roaming ON for the eSIM line, and the eSIM selected as the data line.
- Airplane mode for 10 seconds, then off.
- Full restart of the phone.
- Manual network selection: Settings → mobile network → turn off "automatic" and pick a local carrier. Wait 1-2 minutes.
- If nothing works: eSIM Rescue on any Wi-Fi — the diagnosis identifies your specific case.
What NOT to do
Do not delete the profile to "install it again": most QR codes are single-use and you could lose the eSIM. That step only under support's instruction.

Frequently asked questions
Is it normal for the eSIM to stay "Activating" before the trip?
Yes. Many travel eSIMs only finish activating when they connect to a network at the destination. Installed and "activating" at home = all good.
How long can activation take at the destination?
Normally seconds to 5 minutes after landing. Past 15 minutes with roaming on and a restart done, follow the eSIM Rescue diagnosis.
Does deleting and reinstalling the eSIM fix "Activating"?
It is risky: QR codes are usually single-use. Contact your provider's support before deleting any profile.
