Truly unlimited vs "unlimited" with fair use
Three different things get sold under the same word. Learn to tell them apart before your trip, not in a hotel lobby in Florence.
- Unlimited with a daily high-speed allowance. You get full speed up to X GB per day, then reduced speed until midnight. Common and perfectly usable for maps and messaging, frustrating for video calls.
- Unlimited with a fair-use clause. The terms allow the provider to limit or suspend "abnormal" usage. It is rarely triggered, but it exists.

What to check in any brand's terms before buying
Open the provider's terms and search the page for five words. It takes two minutes and saves the trip.
- "Fair use" — if it appears, find the threshold and what happens after it.
- "Throttle" or "reduced speed" — this tells you whether unlimited means unlimited at full speed.
- "Tethering" or "hotspot" — many plans restrict it. VoaSim does not promise hotspot; if you need it, ask support first.

Coverage in Italy: cities, coast and countryside

Install before you fly, activate when you land
The QR code arrives by email within minutes of payment, with a step-by-step guide for iPhone and Android.
