Most Greece + Turkey itineraries land on 10 or 15 days. Trips of 1 to 4 days pay the 5-day package, and the maximum is 90 days per eSIM. Traveling with someone? Border crossings, flights and ferries
There is no action to take at the border. The eSIM is not tied to one operator; it looks for whatever local network is available and registers there. Two honest caveats:
- Open water. Between Greek islands, and on the crossings to the Turkish coast, signal comes and goes once you are away from shore. Coverage is built for land, not for the middle of the Aegean. The same rule applies to cruises: it works in port, not at sea.
- Re-registration takes a minute. After a border crossing the phone may sit on "searching" briefly. Toggling airplane mode on and off usually settles it.

Coverage in Greek cities, islands and Turkey
In Greece the eSIM connects to Cosmote, Vodafone or Nova depending on where you are. Athens and the main islands are well served on 4G and, where the network supports it, 5G.
- Athens — dense coverage across the center, Plaka, Piraeus and the airport.
- Santorini and Mykonos — solid in the towns and around the main beaches; thinner on cliff paths and remote coves.
- Crete — good along the north coast and in Chania and Heraklion; mountain roads in the interior can drop.
- Rhodes — reliable in the old town and along the resort strip, and useful right before the Turkey crossing.
In Turkey, the same eSIM connects to the local networks that serve Istanbul, Cappadocia, the Aegean coast and the main highways. Remote valleys and some rural stretches behave like rural Greece: usable, but not flawless. Install before you fly, start the clock on arrival
The QR code arrives by email within minutes of payment (plus a WhatsApp heads-up if you left a number). Install it at home, on Wi-Fi, while you still have support in the same time zone.
- Scan the QR and add the eSIM line to your phone.
- Leave that line switched off until you land in Athens or Istanbul. On Android, do not enable data for the eSIM before the trip.
- On arrival, turn the eSIM line on and turn off data roaming on your home carrier.
Your physical SIM and your phone number stay active, so WhatsApp, SMS codes and calls to your number keep working as usual. VoaSim is a data-only product: no new phone number, no traditional voice line. Calls over WhatsApp, FaceTime or Meet work fine over data.
Validity counts from the eSIM's first connection to a network at the destination, not from the purchase date. That is why installing early costs you nothing.
When a different option might suit you better
VoaSim is a good fit if you want one eSIM, one price and unlimited data across the whole Greece + Turkey route. It is not the only way.
