The best eSIM for Thailand
In Thailand local SIMs are cheap — the case for an eSIM is landing already connected (Grab straight from the airport) and skipping the counter queues.
What decides the choice in Thailand
- Coverage on AIS, dtac and True: solid 4G/5G in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and the major islands.
- Grab is the standard way to get around and needs data from minute one at Suvarnabhumi.
- On small islands and in the jungle signal varies by carrier: a multi-network eSIM latches onto whichever is available.
Real coverage
5G in Bangkok and strong 4G on the tourist islands. On boat trips between islands the signal fluctuates in open water.
Main cities: Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Koh Samui. Full detail at eSIM for Thailand.
What to check with any provider
- That Thailand is explicitly on the plan's country list.
- The data policy: truly unlimited, or "unlimited" with fair use?
- Clarity on whether hotspot is covered, a refund guarantee if it never connects, and an invoice with your purchase.
VoaSim checks all three: unlimited with no throttling, a straight answer on hotspot (ask before buying), invoice on every purchase and the 24 h eSIM Rescue tool.
